Confiscation of smartphone by school authorities

07-Mar-2024 (In Criminal Law)
After I had graduated from the 11th grade, my school called me for a parent-teacher conference before school reopened. I had brought my phone for the conference along with earphones and they were confiscated from me by the vice principal who said that I had brought it during school hours. He did not return it at even the request of my parents and threatened me with expulsion. Can I get my phone and its accessory back?

hi alocious here. I can well understand your concern from the query raised. though the school has authority to temporarily seize the phone it is ought to be returned back to the ward or his parents, in the event of failing to return you can send a legal notice to recover the phone
