22-Jun-2025 (In Criminal Law)
Hello, An Uber Porter rider stole my belongings worth ₹30,000/- which was booked by myself through uber porter app. Despite police and app complaints, no action has been taken. Uber is also not responding. What can i do best to recover my items. Please advise.
First of all rather than going legally you should serve him/her a legal notice and in that notice you can write that either pay my money or face legal action which will be at your own risk. After that if he/she fails to give you a satisfactory reply then you can anytime file a recovery suit in the court to claim your money back along with compensations.
It's advisable at first to send a legal notice to uber.
Secondly, I can negotiate and speak to uber on your behalf.
Secondly, you should file a recovery suit in court.

Feel free to reach out and provide more details with respect to your incident to assist you better.
Send legal notice to uber. If police authorities have failed to act on your complaint, approach the Magistrate of the competent jurisdiction praying for directions to police to investigate into the matter. The driver may also be booked under the provisions of theft, criminal breach of trust etc. Subsequently, you can file a case against uber before the jurisdictional consumer forum for deficiency of services, negligence. There are more legal remedies available to you. Mind you, this legal route will give you a way to claim compensation as well.
