Complainant wants to withdraw complaint when FIR not yet filed

If some one complaint and FIR Is not been filed and person who has given complaint want to cancel or withdraw complaint so what can be done or Police will do something
Ask complainant to submit simpel withdraw application before police authorities stating that, i do not have any grievances against the person hence i am not pursuing this complaint anymore. Hence complaint may kindly be withdrawn

FIR can be registered in cognizable offence.so if police has not registered FIR in cognizable case then it seems that they may not want to file it deliberately.whatever the case is don't worry and talk to police or write to them about withdrawing complaint/not to pursue.
