Committed murder while intoxicated

My father in a drunken state hit a man with a bamboo stick in a village and he died within 24 hours, then the police took my father in, now what can we do? What will be the punishment for this and for how long?
Well, your Father's intention was not to commit Murder, it is what I have understood, but in a fit of rage or under anger, he did that, so this amounts to Culpable Homicide not amounting to Murder, for which, he can face 10 years in Jail upto Life Imprisonment
