13-Aug-2023 (In Criminal Law)
Can I be accused of theft, just because i was standing or sitting next to someone and the person i was sitting next to realises he/she lost his phone or wallet once I'm gone. If yes or no what all he needs as proof to accuse me.

He needs to send the complaint to the police and if the credible/substantial evidence is traced back to you . if he does not have any proof than the possibilities are nil as usual but if you any thing to suspect than make a complaint tk the police regarding the same.

yes you can be an accused of theft just because you were standing or sitting next to a person. if the person whose phone was missing then he/she can make a complaint on doubt. you have only the solution is prove yourself innocent.
