Can harassment case be filed after 5 years of the event

23-Jul-2023 (In Criminal Law)
I would like to ask an information in a particular case of mine friend, she was a student of engineering from 2009 to 2013, where she has been faced a constantly ragging which includes cornering, pinching, shooting her vedios without permission and much more like manhandling by her seniors, mostly male. I would like to know that can we file a case after 5 years of this incident, I got to know this just yesterday while talking to her, she has its psychological aftereffects till date, if anything can be done in this case under Indian penal code or Indian law?

defiantly the litigation can apply there because it is the matter of harassment of a female by male seniors moreover shooting the videos is punishable crime under IT act and other all ragging is already ban and punishable and so many charges of IT act IPC act can be charged on them you can contact and brief the details if you feel free

You can register an fir against person who did it, and those who helped him, although it's late but in many cases where fir was registered late, acccused were convicted, further you must contact your friends who were studying with you and present them as witnesses.
