Can complainant skip court hearings for witness statements

27-Apr-2023 (In Criminal Law)
Hi, I have filed a 498a against my husband in 2016. Now I have received summon to attend court as witness. I have attended one and judge asked if I okay with discussions with accused. I said it depends on how they approach as they haven't till date. Problem now is, from last two years I was not working, now I have got a offer overseas and will be away for an year, its high time that I can't neglect my career any further keeping in mind that I need to support my kid. Is there any way I can request judge that I will not be able to attend for some period or a date comfortable for me. Or can I get other witness statements done and submit the evidences through a lawyer. Please suggest.

Dear user,

In this case you can file a special vokalath through advocate to dispence with your precence in the court meanwhile your precedents will go and for every adjunment your lawyer will attend.
