Can an FIR be registered for the violation of AMASR Act 1958

Sir/Madam In my village in AP there is a Ancient monument of National importance. Construction around 100 meters of its periphery is an offense under violation AMASR act 1958 section 30A,30B .Lot of construction happened in its periphery. I have complained to ASI ppl but they have not responded . Can i do an FIR in any police station regarding this. Place Hemavati Village ,Amarapur mandal ,Anantapur,AP. I have maps from ASI portal demarcating prohibited area.

Yes you can, but you better to inform to concern govt.department to initiate appropriate legal action against violater. If the concern authority not take any action, you just bring it notice to Police in the form of complaint.

Hi,

The Superintending Archaeologist in charge of the Circles have been vested with the powers of an Estate Officer to issue eviction notices/orders to the encroachers under Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorized Occupants) Act, 1971. Further, assistance in such cases can also be sought from the respective State Government/police and where there are no fruitful results actions are initiated against the encroachers by filing cases in the court of law.

Yes, you give police complaint and an FIR in any police station regarding this. Place Hemavati Village, Amarapur Mandal, Anantapur, AP. You can also put a PIL (public interest litigation ) in the high court.
