Yes…a witness can always get a lawyer of his/her choice during a criminal trial. But that must only be for assistance purposes. The work of the lawyer will be to see and assist about the questions that comes across the witnesses. For more legal assistance I am just a call away.

Witness is one who sees nose or vouchers for something or one who gives testimony under oth or affirmation in person by oral or written deposition or by affidavit. Therefore there are different types of witnesses who assist in conducting the trial for delivery the justice. No, a witness cannot appoint an advocate for himself because an advocate would serve no purpose in conducting of the trial.

Yes, being a witness you are a part of the trial process and for your ease you can appoint an advocate. However, in general practice the witness doesn't require an advocate. So it's totally up to you.
