Can a use POA to file FIR on my someone else's behalf

13-May-2023 (In Criminal Law)
I had a car from my sister who lives in chandigarh and she is a working lady. I was having the car with me in bathinda and my business partner by fraud, cheeting and forcibly took away my business first and also took the car given to me by my sister. I gave a complaint to the ssp in this regard. Now the case officers sp is asking me to bring my sister to bathinda for her statement as the car is in her name. My sister is married in mohali and also not able to get time from her tight office schedule. Can I give the statement on her behalf if I get a special power of attorney from her in my name? Kindly suggest.

Hi, I think it's not possible thing you are talking about. This can not be done from the legal point of view. However, you can do one thing which will be legally valid. You can give her attested affidavit to the police.

yes, you can provide the statement to the IO through Email or your sister can tender her statement in the form of Affidavit which needs to certified by the oath Commissioner and need to be register at the register of oath Commissioner.
