Can a person be arrested for bribery for giving money for fake job

Back in 2016 I got trapped by a job racket and paid Rs 7 lac. And after finding out the truth. I told them to return my money. So started paying in small amounts. I have received Rs 3 lakhs 24 thousand till now. Now one of the victims have filed a complait agaist them. And those culprits are behind bars. Now police have summoned ne to be a witness. But i dont want to. As it will hamper my studies. So can i refuse them. They are stating that if i dont comply. They will arrest in charge of giving bribe for a job. But i was foxed by them. I dont want my money back and this harresment. So can i refuse them to be a witness. Do they realy can put a charge on me for giving money for a fake job.?
You must write to them over email that you are no way connected to this and you request police not to force you to do something against your wish to harass the general public at the interest of justice
