Bike stolen and recovery of it from Court

My bike was stolen from outside of my house .I approached the local police station after searching for it.then the next day lodged an FIR.Now I get to know that my insurance has not been updated as I was not riding my bike so often as it has some mechanical problem.ow how can I get the custody of the bike if my insurance is not been updated .All the other papers like RC and Road Tax paper are with me .please elaborate me the process of getting the bike if it would be found by the police.

There is no problem if your insurance is not updated you will get the custody of your bike if found you have to submit call for report in court i hope you have all the documents of the bike exect insurance updated what's your jurisdiction..

insurance has nothing do to with filing a stolen report and the police to investigate your case. some insurance do cover theft especially when its under EMI but that would be covering the financial loss. in your case the rc book will be enough to lodge a police complaint and if the police recovers your bike it would be handed over to you.
