Big Theft at Home by Watchman and he flew away to Nepal

Our watchman did a big theft at our home, taken away valuable ancestors ornaments and priced possessions, and flew away to Nepal. It was a huge loss for us.
We did filed an FIR, police caught the thieves by going all the way to Nepal. However as it is different country they could not bring them in India, they were handed over to Nepal Police where by the recovery was confiscated by Court and the thieves were bailed out.
Now we are waiting for recovered property to be handed over to us. the police has forwarded a letter to CBI Interpol, however there is no movement in the case since then.
We are tried following SP office, CBI office however its of no use.
Can we take a legal route to get our lost property back. Please advice.
We are highly stressed as nobody is ready to look into the matter with seriousness.
This is not a straight matter and needs careful intervention and strict followup with right methods. we can take up this matter after understanding complete issue and seeing documents so that chances of going wrong is minimized. We will discuss in detail.
