Iam From Osmanabad Maharashtra. Is there a need for proof to file an FIR under Section 420? And can any police officer investigate the documents before registering an FIR against a Talathi under section 420?
Yes proof is always require to file an FIR in case of 420 and police officer will check and investigate before filing an FIR in such cases and in any case and validity of the complaint as well as documents will always be checked

Further if police r not ready you can direcrly move before MMCourt with private complaint under sec 156(3) of CrPC.
