Agent cheats taking money offering job & police not taken action

Sir A man cheat me in job and placement subject . He give us believe and had 5 lakh rs from me and now when i am going police station so there no buddy take any action. Please suggest me what I do
You can simply go both ways
1. File a criminal complaint against the person in the court under section 156 of CrPC , the magistrate will order the police to file FIR
2. File a recovery suit , in the civil court.
