Yes, withdrawal is possible, but the manner depends on the stage and nature of proceedings. Since you filed a criminal miscellaneous petition seeking registration of FIR, the High Court has directed the police to place material facts on record. At this stage, you may file an application for withdrawal of your petition stating that you have shifted to another city, settled afresh, and no longer wish to pursue the matter. The court has discretion to permit withdrawal, especially if no FIR has yet been registered and investigation has not substantially commenced. However, if an FIR has already been ordered or registered, the offence being non-compoundable (assault under IPC), then quashing by the High Court under Section 482 CrPC with the consent of parties is required rather than simple withdrawal. You should engage your advocate to move an appropriate withdrawal or quashing application so that proceedings are formally closed.

Yes it is totally possible to withdraw the case. I would advise you that in this matter all the details that you are submitted before the court be divulged to a registered practitioner and upon the advice of the practitioner you may further proceed to withdraw the case. The court shall ask for reasons as to why you are withdrawing this case therefore it is pertinent that a registered practitioner gets to know your case and then you can proceed with withdrawing the matter.
