Advice in case trapped in audio recording demanding for donation money

Myself working in Indian Railways and also an office bearer of railway recognised trade union.i was trapped in audio recording by a staff where I demanded donation money for Union fund.also I told him to make lic policy from certain agent as agent will provide donation money for Union fund development purpose.now I had no evil intentions.but the staff submitted those audio recordings to higher authority.now departmental enquiry is going on against me.can I file a case of defamation against me?or what to do with the help of law.please help me
Asking for bribery whether in good or bad intention is itself an offence as per relevant section of The Indian Penal Code.As the department all inquiry is going on you have wait for the inquiry to end,then you would be called to say in your defence.If you file a defamation at this stage then it will mean that you are admitting the fact as a result you cannot say anything in your defence when the inquiry ends.
