No, customer cannot face legal action for buying artificial vagina or dildo or sex toys of any kind as long as they are for personal and private usage. Only selling or reselling without proper permissions can attract legal actions. Otherwise, no legal action.

No, purchasing artificial vaginas and other synthetic sex toys is not explicitly illegal in India. But sale, advertisement, or distribution of such items can sometimes be challenged under obscenity laws depending on context. Importing sex toys may occasionally face customs seizure under obscenity provisions, but courts have sometimes ruled against such seizures.

In India, there is no specific central law that expressly criminalises the private possession or use of adult toys such as artificial vaginas or dildos for personal purposes. However, certain provisions of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Information Technology Act, 2000 regulate the sale, distribution, and public display of “obscene” materials. Under Section 292 IPC, any material deemed “obscene” cannot be sold, publicly exhibited, or distributed. While enforcement varies, online sale of explicit items could attract legal scrutiny, and sellers or platforms may face prosecution if the content is considered obscene under Indian law. For a private buyer purchasing such an item for personal, discreet use (without public display, sale, or distribution), prosecution is rare and generally not pursued. However, if the import or sale is deemed to violate customs regulations or obscenity laws, authorities may seize the goods, and in exceptional cases, question the buyer. In practice, enforcement is primarily directed at sellers and distributors, not individual consumers using such products privately.
