My relative was caught with 4 gm of heroine. What could be max or min punishment for him.?
Hello under section 20 NDPS act the punishment is imprisonment which range from 1 year to 20 years as per the offence which depend upon if quantity small or commercial. In your case 4 gm of heroin as per schedule is less than small quantity therefore offence may attract imprisonment of 1 year with or without fine. Contents of FIR are important to decide the gravity of offence. For any further advice copy of FIR is needed.

Since he is caught with drugs he will be charged under The Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropuc Substances Act. Maximum Punishment would be less than one year of imprisonment or fine. As he is caught with less than 5 grams of heroin.

thats the wrong question at this point of time, since 4gm of heroine comes under small quantity you have a very good chance to get him out through bail..for more better understanding and clarity i need copy of FIR.
