Revocation of job offer due to incompetent background verification

How can I sue an FMCG company which offered me an offer, made me resign from current company immediately and then revoked the same offer because of incompetency in their BGV process? They said I wasn’t honest with my experience of having a career break in between but what about ruining my life because of their mistake? I worked in a lab throughout which they disregarded and said I don’t have required experience to onboard. Why did they provide me an offer letter without checking properly then?
The company cannot arbitrarily revoke an offer after inducing you to resign, especially if the offer was unconditional and you acted upon it in good faith. If they failed to verify your background before issuing the appointment letter, their negligence may amount to misrepresentation and unfair employment practice. The key issue will be whether you disclosed your career break and work experience honestly during the recruitment process and whether the company ignored those disclosures until the BGV stage.
You may first send a detailed legal notice seeking compensation for loss of employment, mental agony, and reputational damage caused by their withdrawal of the offer.
