Remedies in case friend took away source code of software wrongfully

One of my friends approached me and said wanted to start new software since I had the skill. He suggested a new software application which I developed, 99% contribution is mine and when the software almost complete as per our verbal agreements (WhatsApp text and emails), he has to work with the clients. But now he took all my source code and stopped responding completely for more than 2 weeks. Now I figured it out all these he might have done intentionally because of some years old small personal conflict (nothing wrong as per law) we had. Now, what actions I take on him? Two things did mainly 1) Took my source code which I developed by spending 6 months of effort 2) Cheated me saying he'll work as a partner and didn't and intentionally not responding anything.
Its quite complicated case as technology and IT related law has to be implemented strictly with by adapting the up to date information. But still if you have a sufficient proof to prove about the work which you have done which was taken over by your friend.
