As a startup, do I need to register my company? If yes, whats the procedure to register as a Pvt Ltd or an LLP?
Yes, You should register a company in order to run a business if there is any kind of trade is involved. It is up to you and your partners (if any) to decide which type of company you wish to register. The procedure will be according to the number of person involved and type of company you choose (Partnership, LLP, Pvt. Ltd, etc).

You have to make application with the Registrar of Companies to register a Private Limited Company or LLP. In either format, there shall be at least 2 Directors or 2 Partners and both the Directors/Partners shall have Director Identification Number (DIN No) and if you don't have then you need to apply on MCA website to obtain the same. Without DIN No. you will not be able to register either Pvt. Ltd. Co./LLP.

As far as registering a Pvt Ltd company or an LLP are required there are various guidelines prescribed under the Companies Act and you need to comply with those .The process has been made easier and faster of late ,details of which being exhaustive may not be able to share in this limited forum
