Prev company gave show cause for legal action

21-Jun-2023 (In Corporate Law)
My prev company (XYZ) got me signed 50rs affidavit for various clauses at time of joining that i had to sign because on joining i had no other option. XYZ say i can not join any of their client that i worked, for the duration of 2 years after resigning from XYZ company. As i have joined their client now they have sent me show cause notice why i join their client.

Since such agreement and clauses are standard you have no option but sign the same at the time of joining. However no one can restrict anyone from practising any trade or employment. If you have received a show cause notice you should send them a detailed legal reply through an advocate

Query perused. I would advise you to file a proper reply to the show cause notice seeking them to withdraw the same. The negative covenants in the agreement would be in restraint of trade and hit by section 27 of the Contract Act thus, legally not enforceable.
