The National Commission for Women is the apex national level organisation of India with the mandate of protecting and promoting the interests of women.

FILING OF COMPLAINT

A person intending to file a complaint before the National Commission for women may do so by making a complaint on the official website of the Commission ncwapps.nic.in under the section of 'register online complaints'. The complaints received relate to domestic violence, harassment, dowry, torture, desertion, bigamy, rape, and refusal to register FIR, cruelty by husband, deprivation, gender discrimination, and sexual harassment at the workplace.

The complaints are dealt with and tackled in various ways such as Investigations by the police are expedited and monitored, disaggregated data are made available to various state authorities to facilitate action, family disputes are resolved or compromised through counselling.
