Can default in payment of bond amount be excused for health issues

Hi ,I have signed a bond of 1yr in a company while joining as a fresher. But after working there for 3 months i quit the job without informing the company as i am facing health issues due to night shift working. Now after 1 month of leaving the company i got a letter to pay the amount of 1 Lakh to the company within the 10 days period of letter issued date else the matter will be forward to the legal department of the company. So plz help me out what to do in this case??

Hi, the bond signed by you with the Employer is enforceable before the court of law, therefore, it is advised that you reply to the said letter with appropriate medical certificate substantiating your reason. You are also advised to go through the terms of the bond and how the amount of Rs. 1 lakh is payable by you, whether it is specifically stipulated that you are to pay the said amount or the Company has made some additional payment demands.

You have to see your contract for its terms and conditions regarding termination. You should reply to the said notice by stating that because of health issues you have been unable to work. Please check how the figure of Rs. 1 Lac was arrived. Also please check if any money has been spent on you for training.
