What can be done if college is asking extra fee
10-Jan-2023 (In Consumer Court Law)
I study in an private engineering college .The college is forcing me to pay extra money than what is mentioned in fees .There is no one to resolve my complaint in the college.They have even imposed illegal fines for not paying the amount. every now and then they pressurise me to pay the amount . Can I raise this matter in consumer court.How much time will it take to get resolved. The amount they are asking for is rs 13000 . What compensation can I demand from the college for mentally torturing me.
Depending upon the nature of requisition made by college, one can consider the legal recourses. Consumer laws per se may not be applicable as there does not seems to be any lack of service in question.

You can make complaint to the parent body or board from where your is recognized. You can file complaint in human rights office also for harassing you. You can go in consumer court but it will take time. For early disposal of your case first you move representation to the College management and one application to the board from where your coll is recognized and one further application to state govt. Then you can move in writ petition before high Court but for compensation u hv to file your case in consumer or move suit for damages in civil court
