Legal action against college refunding less amount of total security

10-Jan-2023 (In Consumer Court Law)
I took admission in an engineering college in 2013. They took total 10000 rupees as caution money (security money), 5000 is for admission and 5000 for hostel. Now as the course is completed they have to refund this amount. But they are not refunding the total refundable amount. They are refunding 2 or 3 thousand less then total amount. What should I do in this? Should the college also have to refund the interest on it to me?

The college administration can not levied any unnecessary charges on your security deposit, if they made any charges or deduct any amount you can made complaint to police administration or you can send him a legal notice for there act. There is no necessary to paid interest on your security deposit.

Caution money is to refund after completion of session or college. College is refunding less money in such case firstly complain to concerned warden of the hostel and administration concerned with admission. You can also file a consumer case to refund the amount with interest.
