Cheating and fraud by interior designers

06-Sep-2023 (In Consumer Court Law)
My interior designer has taken almost 75% of the entire amount. And not even given us one room to live in. Now they are saying that if we don't pay more, they stop the work and they have done that leaving the entire house in a mess with wires hanging and ply scattered and no lights/ no fans anywhere. Moreover, they have been using substandard products/ not the ones promised. Now we r left with no option. Our money is at stake and house is in shambles. They have crossed the deadlines given many times and now are trying to extra t money without giving us anything. What is the protection offered by law to us in such a case. And own should we proceed?

Hello,

You can approach a local advocate to send a legal notice for deficiency in service on part of a contractor and also file a complain in consumer forum for the same based on his reply. Please intimate the local police for unruly behaviour of the contractor and worker. You may contact me for legal help if you are from mumbai
