My friend's ex (abusive) boyfriend is threatening to publish her nude photos on Facebook because she broke up with him. What legal action can be taken?

File an FIR against that boy in your nearest police station on extortion IPC 383, criminal intimidation IPC 503, and IPC 501, Section 67 and 67A of Information Technology Act, Praying for his immediate arrest and seizing his electronic devices to delete those phtographs. Probably hire a female criminal lawyer to deal with her photographs if she has doubt on police dealing with those pics.
Also send a legal notice through your lawyer to him stating that if those pics gets published in any platform by anyone, then he will solely be liable for such act for which a civil suit for damages/compensation will be filed against him along with other costs.

If he does he ll be held liable for dissemination of photos. This get sensitive as if he does the girl image will be compromised. So a tactful approach is necessary. You must meet the in charge of women cel n discuss the matter first n set a trap
