What are the consequences of lying about marital status on a passport application?

25-Jul-2024 (In Civil Law)
Hi, I had a court marriage last year, but it has not been officially announced yet. I am now applying for a passport. Should I mention 'single' on the application since I am not living with my husband and all my documents list my parents' address? Is it mandatory to mention marital status in the passport application, and what are the implications of being listed as single in the passport when married?

Yes you can write single there as all the documents are having your father name and the address . To apply for passport you need document proof and all proof show yiur father address and his name in fathers name.

Hi..as per the facts provided by you , i would only suggest that dont hide true fact of your court marriage from the goverment authority. It is illegal and unlawful to hide true facts and it is an offence as per indian law to provide false information to goverment authorities.
