Reservation of sc candidate in recruitment

If sc candidate selected in general merit list based on higher marks according to no of posts Then its sc reservation post is vacant or not vacant? Because our reservation based on vacant seats of sc posts Pls help me
Generally the term used in government exams is not general merit list but the unreserved category. Anyone can get through this unreserved category and it is not reserved just for general category people. Generally 50 percent of the seats are unreserved. The rest is divided between sc, st and OBC candidates and for these seats only the person belonging to that particular category can be allotted a seat. In fact the Supreme Court has opened a carry forward rule whereby if a few reserved seats are left vacant during a particular year then they would be carried forward to the next year
