Regarding birth certificate gap in Registration date

18-May-2025 (In Civil Law)
My brother birth certificate is issued after 10 years of birth as he was born at home and now he is 17 so his date of birth and date of registration shows around the gap or more than 10 years now he is an athlete and the federation does not allow him to participate with the same certificate they states that their is a huge gap in your registration so which kind of proof should I give to state that he haven’t reduced his age and the certificate has been applied late that’s why their is a gap.

To resolve this issue, you should obtain an affidavit from your parents explaining the reason for the delayed registration of birth, along with supporting documents such as school records, hospital records (if any), vaccination records, or any other official document proving your brother's date of birth, and submit these to the federation as proof of his actual age.

To establish the genuineness of your brother’s date of birth and to dispel any doubts of manipulation, I recommend the following documentation: 1. Notarized Affidavit by Parents/Guardians: Clearly explaining the circumstances of home birth. Reason for delay in registration. Confirmation that there was no intent to misrepresent age. 2. School Records: Obtain a certified copy of the first school admission form or school leaving certificate, showing the same date of birth. These are admissible and credible under Indian evidentiary norms. 3. Medical or Vaccination Records (if available): Any government hospital/village health records from early childhood showing the date of birth. 4. Government-Issued IDs: Aadhaar, Ration Card, or any other document issued prior to issuance of the birth certificate that mentions the same date of birth. 5. Matriculation Certificate (if applicable): If your brother has appeared for Class 10 board exams, the matriculation certificate is a legally accepted proof of age. 6. Letter from School Principal: A declaration from the school confirming the date of birth as per their records since initial admission. I suggest compiling the above documents and preparing a formal representation letter to the federation, enclosing: Certified copy of the birth certificate Supporting school and government records Affidavit of explanation from the parent/guardian This should be sufficient to demonstrate that the delay in registration was administrative and not an attempt to reduce age for eligibility purposes. This should be your initial step before approaching any court.

since your brother is 17 years so I presume that he must have completed his class 10th. the marksheet of class 10th has the date of birth and in case of any such discrepancy that will stand as valid otherwise you can apply for a declaration by the court for the correct date of birth as per the certificate as well

For situations involving delayed birth registration, here are some documents and evidence that could help validate the birth certificate: - Hospital or medical records from around the time of birth (if any consultations happened) - Affidavits from relatives, neighbors, or community leaders who can testify about the home birth and the actual date of birth - School admission records showing when your brother first started school - Any religious ceremony certificates (like baptism) from early childhood - Local government or panchayat records that might have documented the birth informally - A detailed explanation letter from parents stating the reasons for delayed registration It would also be helpful to: - Get the letter/explanation notarized - Obtain a certificate from the registration authority explaining why there was a delay in registration - Contact the sports federation directly to understand their specific requirements for such cases, as they might have a standard procedure for delayed birth registrations

Can file an application in the concerned sdm court to get a proof of age certificate. Get the same gazetted and publish as per procedure. Once done the certificate will supercede all docs related to the POA.
