Recently I have been selected for IBPS po and there will be police verification for that nAnd previous week I was fined for public drinking under section 84 of Maharashtra liquor prohibition act 1949 I paid the fine of 3000 rupees in court.I got the attestation form of police verificationnWhere it's asked have you ever fined, convicted, detention, or sentence awarded to you by any court of law for any offence. I marked yes and mentioned the above section I was fined fornWill it affect my joining or police verification will be rejected because of the fine I paid under section 84 of Maharashtra liquor prohibition act 1949.

You need not worry at all. This is a minor offence falling under the list of petty offences. You can without fear give any Government Exam including IBPS and can get selected in it on the basis of merits. This Offence won't impact your selection at all if you have revealed details about it to authority.

No it should not affect your joining or your police verification will not get cancelled. This is because the Court has already taken of the offence under section 84 of Maharashtra Liquor Prohibition Act, 1949 and you have already paid fine for it. The Police at best would ask you give an affidavit that the earlier case has been closed and there is no pending case against you

yes it can effect in my opinion because you are already been selected as you said...but you said police verification is left. see the thing is government always wants and wishes everyone with a Clean background... but it can happen that it won't effect because the act and section imposed upon you is not that grevious in nature
