Query regarding validity of acts done by unregistered housing society

09-Sep-2023 (In Civil Law)
Respected Sir, I live in colony where residents have formed the society but is is Unregistered. I have following questions in my mind: 1) whether such kind of Unregistered society can collect money from residents for maintaining the colony & paying electricity bills. 2) What if I don't pay maintenance charges to them on ground that the charges are not reasonable & society is registered. 3) In my colony electricity connection is temporary. Society has single common meter in the name of coloniser. Society collects money from all residents and pay it to coloniser. Society made rule that every house has to pay rs 4000+ 1000 for maintenance of society . In this colony my house is under construction stage , so i opposed them for this 5000 rs charges on the ground that charges for under construction house can not be at par with already constructed house. But they disconnected electricity of my house. Do they have right to disconnect electricity ? Thank You so much sir !

Hello,
If society is not registered you can take following step against the society but before take any steps we have to look into the terms and conditions of the society and legal provision under which the society is registered and we have to look into the society matter whether society is doing audit on yearly basis regarding the income and expenditure related to members then only it is possible to take any legal actions against the society for further more more detailed discussion just contact us.
