Promisory Note given my dad before death should that amount be paid

14-Feb-2023 (In Civil Law)
Hi , My Father has given a 100 rs stamp signed paper before his death stating he had obtained during my sister's marriage. Since he has recently passed away due to an accident , the person is asking me and my mother to repay the entire debt. Since we have already financially weak we aren't capable of paying off. Does this legally make me liable to pay. Me and my mom haven't signed in that document. Please help in understanding .

First of all, try to find out if the stamp paper and signature are genuine. How that stamp paper ended up in his hands. There are several questions to be answered... Is there any legally enforceable debt? Let him prove that first...
