Opening gate in the back side of home

We want to open gate on the boundary in the back side of the house, but our neighbor is against it even though we are not taking any land of the. The gate is completely lie in our land. And they have also called the police. Majority is with them so I think police will take their side. What can we do now?nnnThanks in advance.

if you want to open a gate other than what is prescribed in the map approved by the authorities you can go into different ways first you get the approval from the development authorities by modifying the map or in the other remedy that you have is you can file a case for easement in the civil court
