OBC and NCL certificate

01-Sep-2023 (In Civil Law)
Sir/Madam, I am a Marwari(Surname Bajoria) from UP. I completed my Graduation in General category, recently i surfed on the internet and found that i may come under OBC and hence i decided to visit Kachehri and some are saying that its possible, some are denying. Sir my question is that i am not having anything to prove that i belong to OBC as all my certificates are of General category but still if i manage to get a valid OBC certificate somehow then will i face trouble during verification process of IIM? and is any other official document(stating caste) also required during verificifation?

sir,
You are belong to general category Bajoria and sub cast Marvari. Marvari is belong to general category but you told Marwari is OBC category but my knowledge is Marwari is general category. If you want more then information about this then you watch government OBC rule.

As far as the second part of your question is concerned, offcourse you will have to produce a valid caste certificate (jaati pramaan patra) at the time counselling after your selection in the entrace examination. I don't think so that a discrepency in category as reflected from your previous and the latest caste certificate will create a problem because earlier you were ignorant that you came under OBC category, so the minute you got to know, you changed your category; something which is not illegal.

General rule for getting OBC certificate that you apply for the same to your district magistrate office with your family tree history along with your father annual income and notification for including Marwaris in OBC catagory.because if you are under creamy layer you could not get the certificate. Other wise you get it , but it is valid for only one year after one year u once again apply for that
