Neighbours fallen wall compensation

My construction for shop started 15 days ago.Since previous construction was of sand and clay I decided to leave a 14inch wall attached to our neighbours wall as it was. But that wall fell along with his wall yesterday as heavy rain and storm was there. I told them i will make your wall the same it was. But as their house is also old they are asking me to make a new wall from the foundation itself. Please tell what are my laibilities and how much is needed to be compensated by me

Well, you are not liable to pay them, considering, their and your wall got fallen because of the act of God and as such, their wall didn't fall because of either your wall constructed 14 inches away from their wall or due to the prolonged construction activity of redevelopment of your shop.
