Name change directly in marriage certificate

14-Oct-2023 (In Civil Law)
Hello,nI recently got married. My maiden name is "Aarti Kumari" and I want to keep my husband's surname now. So can I get it done directly in my marriage certificate ?nCan my marriage certificate have name as "Aarti Singh" instead of my maiden name "Aarti Kumari" ? All my identity proof like Adhaar, PAN, Passport as well as educational certificates, job IDs, bank documents have my maiden name "Aarti Kumari". Will changing name directly in marriage certificate serve all future purpose wherever I need to prove change of name ?

You should put your original name as appearing in your documents in the marriage certificate. If you want to change your surname or anything like that, you can apply for such change in your documents after your marriage certificate is issued , by following the due process of law.
