Name change. Change of the old name. After a gap of almost 21 years.

26-Oct-2023 (In Civil Law)
I got married in 1998 and changed my old name due to certain personal reasons. All my school certificates are in my old name. But based on the name printed on the wedding invitation, I continued with my new name and so, all the new documents are in my present name like aadhar, voter id, pan. On paper, I have zero qualifications and so I wish to get my name corrected legally now. What can be done?

You have to get published a publication in newspapers that you wish to get your name change...the publication is to be printed in two newspapers then you have to get it printed in official gazette....on the basis of gazette you can get your name changed everywhere all this process takes about 15 days of time and it can cost between 12k to 18k

Ma'am, you can get a Gazette notification published to the effect that both names are of the same person and you have been using the new name for all intents and purposes. In case any issue is raised in any department/office you can affix the copy of the notification. other wise, updation of new name in old education and other records is not allowed.
