My ex employer has sent me a legal notice on my watsapp status post

18-Aug-2024 (In Civil Law)
I had left the organisation 3 months back following up on my Full and final clearance. Had put up a watsapp status saying debt ridden companies are closing down and put the company logo. Status was Remov3ed with in an hour. But someone from the team has taken a screenshot of the same and sent me a legal notice Asking for damages and also mentioning my performance was poor, etc!! Should I reply back ? How should I go about bit ?

You need to reply back with the legal notice and in case they are still adamant then you will have to file a case against them since they have an option of filing defamation case against you. The screen shot being old holds no ground but you need to defend properly

Considering that it is a civil dispute, the legal notice from company must be replied in a proper legal manner. In case the company files a civil suit in future, you can rely on your reply in future. You may contact me in case you want to draft and serve your reply to the company concerned.

If they have sent you a Legal Notice, then, you must reply. What if they sue you tomorrow, so it is the best practice always to defend oneself, it is must to tender reply to the Legal Notice served upon you!
