Generally when High Court pass an order regarding service of notice, it is usually made returnable within 14 days from the date of service of the notice. But you should file the vakalatnama atleast before the next date.

It depends upon various factors:
1. On issuance of notice, the concerned litigant needs to take proper steps for service of notice by depositing requisite copies of the petition, etc. for service to the other side along with cost of the service.
2. Once proper steps for service is taken by the litigant and the service is effected, the court waits for service report. Once service report is received by the court, it will proceed with the case.
3. If the court doesn't receive the notice or acknowledgement back within 30 days of service, the notice concerned is deemed to be served upon the other side and then notwithstanding the appearance/non-appearance of the other side, the court proceeds with the case.
4. There are some other types of service of notice as well which includes substituted service, dasti service etc.

Hi,

It depends on the kind of case you are submitting. The judge, after going through all the documents will make his decision regarding the service of notice. So, I would require you to kindly provide me with more details to make a proper calculation.
