Loan Company Not Closing Loan Account

Loan company is not closing the loan account. I have paid the loan settlement amount. The company is coming up with excuses and clearly they want more money. What is the legal remedy in this case?
Is the loan settlement amount documented or confirmed by the loan company on the email or through a settlement offer letter. In case you have paid the settlement amount as per the offer letter and still they are not closing your account, it would tantamount to deficiency in services for which you may seek legal remedies
