Lawyer did not file case judge asking for condonation of delay

I had given an insurance claim case to a lawyer but he did not filed the case and kept on saying that the case is in process.later i came to know that he did not filed the case even and the case got time barred. i agained filed case after 3 years almost and court has asked to present a case on condonation of delay on the basis of which case could be accepted.
You can file a complaint in the Bar council of India against the advocate for failure to perform his duty. You can also file a case against the advocate in the consumer court on failure to perform the service that he was bound to perform and claim for compensation.
