Landlord trying to extort, threatening of legal notice

I gave a one month notice on Whatsapp. My landlord, who is a lawyer, says he doesn't consider It written and is asking for another month of extra rent after i vacated the premises. He is threatening me that he will recover this money from my employer.
This is my response to you:
1. It does not look like you have to pay rent;
2. Is the written notice complying with all requirements as per your agreement?
3. If yes then you have nothing to worry;
4. Consult a local lawyer and take steps.
