Land encroachment of public street road

Hello this is kavipriya. We reside in sakkottai kumbakonam. The opposite house's members try to encroach our street road by projecting their car parking out to a distance of 3 ft. It creates a nuisance as we are in the dead end plot. We warned them. But even then if they try to proceed it further how can we get the stay legally or else what should we do
you can make a complaint to your local municipality against him for making encroachment and damaging your property. simultaneously you can also file a police complaint against him and the persons who are making the construction.
