Is Gazette Notification Mandatory for Legal Name Change ?

23-Sep-2023 (In Civil Law)
In 2017 I got my name changed from , for ex from A to B . I got an affidavit done from 1st Class District Metropolitan Magistrate stating change of name . After that I got it published in Two Newspaper and then through that got it updated in each and every document that one can possess right from birth certificate to id cards to educational certificates , etc . I have faced no problem whatsoever but I want to know that whether gazette notification is optional or mandatory ?? . Is there any requirement also left for that gazette as the new name has been reflected in every possible document one can hold ?

no, you must add your new name in the gazette notification. It is manatory. Gazette notification is an important process, it will be helpful in case of any difficulties you face regarding your name change. it has an authoritative presence in the eye of law.
