How to regain possession on a leased property

28-May-2023 (In Civil Law)
Hi, We have taken a shop for lease for 11 months. We paid 4 lakhs advance and agreed rent 17000. Now 11 months are over and the owner of the shop cheated us and not ready to pay our advance 4 lakhs. So, we decided to not to vacate the shop. meanwhile, he filed a case in court saying that we vacated the shop and requested for injunction order and status quo. I understood court gave him status quo. meanwhile he looted our shop and theft all the stock in our shop and also broken our keys and locked with his keys. Then we went to police station, there also we didnt got any support. So, we also broken the shop keys and took the possession of the shop.Again 2 days back, he did a welding to the shop locks to make sure not to open it when it was closed. so, now we are unable to open the shop and not even break the locks again. Police as usual not responding. Our lawyer also filed the case, but i didn't understood what case he filed. How to proceed here. Kindly suggest.

You need to file a FIR regarding theft of your property, if the said police office denies to register the same then you can file a complaint to the Superintendent of Police of the said jurisdiction area. If the said complaint is not still registered, then you can file a complaint to the magistrate under section 156(3) of CrPC. After that you can file a case against the said landlord against the said eviction.
