What if the court ordered section 89 and plaintiff did not approach defendant. Next hearing is on the second week of Dec to submit terms and conditions if any. What Defendant is suppose to do ?

If the case stage s set for mediation and one of the party doesn't approach the other for negotiation then nothing to worry convey the same before the court.
The court will record and post the case to next stage.
