How to apply for OBC certificate
11-Jun-2023 (In Civil Law)
Sir, My parents are both OBCs from Kerala. As a matter of fact both have then migrated to Maharashtra for 25 years and now no longer holds the ration card of Kerala but of Maharashtra. Since I was born in Kerala at my mom's place apparently i found out that my Name was registered in the ration card there and my name is also present in the ration card of Maharashtra too. Now I am trying to apply for OBC via the district of my mom. Now am I eligible for the certificate if yes what will be my Permanent Address ideally. Please help. Thank you in advance.
Firstly one person should have only One Ration card .In your case, one will become invalid. Regarding applying for OBC Certificate you need to go to Akshaya Centre which is nearest to your house in Kerala. They will be able to let you know if you are eligible for OBC from Kerala as your certificates and all documents will be from Maharashtra.
As per your query,
For obtaining a Caste Certificate you need to enclose a Domicile Certificate along with the application. Domicile Certificate is issued as a proof by the Tahsildar that the Applicant is residing in his jurisdiction since last 15 years. Though your birth place is at Kerala, you are residing in the Maharashtra since last 15 years along with your parents, hence your permanent address will be at Mumbai and Native place will be Kerala.
